NEW SMYRNA, Fla. -- Bobby Webber Racing made their presence felt during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway. Kyle Casper started off the week competing in the Sportsman division, driving the Boyd Technology No. 47 to a sixth-place finish on night one, and a podium third-place effort on night two.
Then, it was time for Bryan Kruczek to take the wheel of the Pro Late Model. Bryan grabbed a top-five finish on night one, but followed up by crashing out on night two after a racing incident. The team worked hard overnight to prepare the car for battle, and just one night later, Bryan wheeled to victory in dramatic fashion with a pass inside the final two laps to take one of the biggest wins of his career, and give Bobby Webber Racing the first team win at New Smyrna. "It was a battle of attrition, I said I was just going to sit back and watch them beat and bang and be there at the right time and I was there for it," Kruczek said. "Happy to be here -- it's a long travel for us. I have to thank all of the guys from the Port City teams for helping us, Boyd Technology and all of the guys and girls on the team... I can't thank everyone enough." Casper's week started with trouble after a flat tire during practice day put the No. 47 in the wall off turn two. The team had to work hard to get the car back together, but it was well worth it -- as Casper prevailed to a podium on the final night of Sportsman racing, a 50-lap feature. "It was a good run," Casper said. "We had been working really hard all weekend to get the car better and it was the best it had been in that final race. I wish we had a few more races to run but we will try again next time." Bobby Webber Racing wishes to thank our dedicated sponsors for their help to get us to New Smyrna for competition at the front of the field. It should be a fun few days of racing for us at the World Series.” Quote From Bryan Kruczek: “I’m always excited to be able to get away from the daily winter grind and make the trip south this time of year,” Kruczek said. “We have put a lot of hard work in this winter at the shop on the Port City Pro Late Model and we have been working to better ourselves as a team. It’s a good feeling to know we have Jason Ricker making the calls for the week and all of the hard work that Shane at Port City put into the car, it will give us a competitive car.” Quote From Team Owner Bobby Webber Jr: “I’m excited, happy, nervous and sad all in one,” Webber said. “Excited that we are out of the colder northern weather for a few weeks, happy to see the Port City car hit the track in a new class, and we have the nervous anticipation of Kyle running in his first Speedweeks at New Smyrna, although we know he will do great. I’m sad that this may very well be my last Speedweeks as a car owner with us cutting back to a limited schedule in 2023. I’m looking forward to getting the cars on track for a fresh start. Last year was a trying year even with the success we had. This marks a new chapter. I just want to take it all in and enjoy it.” You can follow all of the latest Bobby Webber Racing news at BobbyWebberRacingLLC.com.
